The play contains a social element – rejection of that which is different and foreign to understanding and perception by the majority. It’s about the confrontation between the general and individual, private and public. |

One-Person Play based on songs and letters by Alexander Vertinsky “Letters to Lilechka” Uliana Angelevskaya / Moscow |
Vertinsky seems to be crying, or maybe playing with the audience? Presenting them with one small drama after another. Poems follow songs, mixing into one truthful, or maybe not quite, story of life and relationships with the fair sex. And throughout the whole story follows the line of yearning for HER, the one and only, his little wife. He reads letters to her, carefully pronouncing each word. The play is about search for love, for motherland. It’s about a man who, by the end of his life, found everything he ever wished for, except peace. The Play is about 50 minutes long. Pianist: Dmitry Maltsev |
